BACKYARDS & GARDENS
.
If you've ever tried to take family photographs that include your pets - cats / dogs etc. you'll know how difficult it is to get your pets to pose and look at the camera. Taking photographs of wildlife also poses similar problems. To take photographs of wild birds / animals, your Garden / Backyard is a good place to start. Depending where you live, you may be lucky in that local wildlife may visit your garden in search of food. You can encourage birds and animals into your yard by providing feeders with assorted food, nuts and grains are popular with most animals or birds. Over time you will be able to anticipate when your visitors will appear, and if your ready with your camera, patience will be rewarded with photographs. A long or Zoom lens will also help, it allows you to get close to the birds without interrupting them while they're feeding. Using the zoom on your phone will also get you close if you do not have a long camera lens.
